It only takes twenty four hours for plaque that is not removed from your teeth to turn into calculus (tartar)! Daily home cleaning helps control plaque and tartar formation, but those hard to reach areas will always need special attention. PearlBrite recommends daily care, but encourages you to see your dental professional about maintenance regiments.
Good oral hygiene practices and periodontal cleanings are essential in maintaining dental health and keeping periodontal disease under control! PearlBrite also recommends the following after care procedures (these recommendations are also provided to you after your procedure):
What to Avoid in the Following 24 to 48 Hours After the Procedure:
Beverages: Coffee, Tea, Red Wine, Dark Colored Sodas
Foods: Dark Foods such as Berries, Beets, and Chocolate
Activities: Smoking, Chewing Tobacco, and Even Swimming
TIPS: If the food or beverage would stain your new white tablecloth it can inhibit your PearlBrite results in the first 24 hours.
On Going Maintenance Tips:
Regular Dental Visits: Professional Dental Consultation and or Cleaning at Least Once or Twice a Year*
Use a Straw: Next time you reach for the cup of coffee or soda, try to use a straw. Same flavor, less damage to your new PearlBrite smile!
Quit Smoking!: Yeah, easier said than done, but keeping a whiter smile is one more reason to ditch the pack.
After Care Products: Make sure to maintain your regular dental care routine. PearlBrite recommends using a whitening toothpaste and mouthwash along with our Shine Touch Up Pen to maintain the shine, color and luster of your new smile!
* It is usually recommended that you see your dental professional four times a year. At these cleaning appointments, the pocket depths will be carefully checked to ensure that they are healthy. Plaque and calculus that is difficult for you to remove on a daily basis will be removed from above and below the gum line.
